Eternal Energy Foundation
We are a small group of progressive citizens of Noida, who have joined hands to help our city fight the pandemic. Our pledge and commitment was to ensure that every mouth is fed and no one sleeps hungry, be it human or animal. Let’s have #compassionforall.
We provided groceries to about 3500+ families and also started a parallel fresh fodder drive for stray cattle. For this purpose Noida, Noida extension was divided into 3 zones. Each zone being a cluster of several sectors. Fresh fodder was provided to stray cattle everyday. It is a non stop drive going on last 4 years. We feed about 150 stray cattle everyday.
During Lockdown 2, we built a database of several hopsitals, oxygen cylinders and tried to help as many people as possible. We literally worked night and day to cater to requests for beds, cylinders. We even pooled in money to help people financially.
When the Pandemic was at its peak, we started a “sit at home” tuition program for kids. Where the teacher was an outstanding student (from lower economic background). We successfully conducted several batches of tuition programs for destitute kids for a period of 8 months till the lockdown was fully lifted.
When the COVID situation eased up, we started a large drive for augmenting more income for destitute women. We provided them with sewing machines taught them to stitch cloth bags. We aim to provide gainful employment to thousands of destitute women, thereby creating Noida’s largest cloth bag bank. Where the cloth bags are used as a safer substitute for the already banned polythene and non woven bags.
We are currently working on launching a massive portal to sensitize, create more awareness on banned Single Use Plastics, particularly, polythene bags. This will be launched by 26th March, as a part of our Annual Celebrations. We intend to get this launched at the Noida Authority Office and invite several activists and media. We have won several awards and accolades for our efforts. One of the prominent awards we received is for the work we did in COVID lockdown 1 from the CEO, Noida Authority.
